Holiday Menu, Recipe 5 - Vegan Falafel Balls


 Like I said, please don’t serve the vegan’s in your family a sad looking Greek salad and green beans this festive season. Rather show them a little bit of love with this vegan falafel recipe. 

If you’re not about to make your own falafels from scratch, rather purchase a couple tubs of the ready-made stuff from Woolies.


1 – 2 tubs of Falafel balls (depending on the amount of people you’re feeding)

Bag of baby spinach

Falafel Chutney:

1 Tbsp Mr Balls chutney

2 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar

Salad Dressing:

1 Tbsp Dijon mustard

1Tbsp Balsamic vinegar

1 Tbsp Olive oil

1 tspn Honey



1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees

2. Pop falafel balls onto a baking tray

3. Mix up sauce by adding the balsamic vinegar, Mr Balls chutney, spread over the falafel and place baking tray in the oven for 10 minutes.

4. While the falafel balls are heating through, stir up a dressing which you could either serve on the side or over the top by mixing Dijon mustard, equals parts balsamic vinegar, olive old and a squeeze of honey.
